Karin Mikara has studied guitar with the famous guitar pedagogue Heinz Teuchert and his son Michael Teuchert. She started playing guitar at the age of six. She studied music at the Dr. Hoch´s Conservatory in Frankfurt as teenager and continued her education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Arts "Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst" from the age of 18. There she did her exam of music as guitarist and guitar teacher. In 2005-2008 she took further studies at the same University with Michael Teuchert. Regular participation in various seminars and festivals.
For more than 30 years she was working successful as popular guitar teacher at several music schools and privately mostly near Koblenz at the Rhine in Germany. A lot of her students are prizewinners of the German music competition "Jugend musiziert". Beside working as music teacher she worked also successful as concert soliste and in cooperation with several international musicians in various formations on stage. She moved from Koblenz to Stockholm in 2009 where she drove her own guitar studio on Conservatory level with adult students "KM gitarrstudio" in the capital of Sweden until 2015. Same time she worked in concerts together with several musicians from Sweden, Russia, Germany, Greece, France, Ireland. In 2016 she wrote an E-book for guitarists in Swedish language and she offers lessons international by Skype. She is also working as a karma therapist and healer since 2015. The heart of Karins music life is to perform excellent solo concerts around Europe where she spreads her positive energy to the audience in an unique show which is called by "Celtic Lights". "Celtic Lights" was part of the Swedish program "Culture in health care" - Stockholms läns landstings "Kultur i vården" in 2014-2015. In 2015 she moved to Avignon, South France, Provence and in 2018 she moved to the French Alps to La Plagne, near the Mont Blanc.
